Canine Cushing's Treatment

by Mitch Potter, DVM, Gayle Trotter

Vetoryl capsules, manufactured by Dechra, contain the drug trilostane, which has been demonstrated to be effective in the treatment of Cushing's syndrome in dogs. Dechra has just received FDA approval to market 10-mg Vetoryl capsules in addition to the 30-mg and 60-mg sizes. Vetoryl is the only FDA-approved product that is indicated for use in pituitary-dependent and adrenal-dependent hyperadrenocorticism in dogs. The 10-mg capsules will be available from distributors shortly.
