Carrie Jo Davidson (right) has been selected the winner of the 2008 Kansas Veterinary Technicians Association (KVTA) scholarship. Davidson, from Elkhart, Kan., is enrolled in the veterinary technology program at Colby Community College in Colby, Kan. She will graduate in May 2009. As part of the application, Davidson submitted an essay on why she chose to become a veterinary technician and how she plans to better the profession.
According to Cheryl Hermann, BA, RVT, secretary/treasurer of KVTA, "We had several good applicants [for the scholarship], and we are excited that there will soon be many intelligent, talented and enthusiastic technicians joining the profession."
