Harold Davis, Jr: First Veterinary Technician to Receive the Ira M. Zaslow VECCS Distinguished Service Award

    October 10, 2012—the 18th International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Symposium (September 8-12, 2012)—Harold Davis, Jr, BA, RVT, VTS (ECC, Anesth), received the Ira M. Zaslow VECCS Distinguished Service Award for 2012. Harold is the first and only technician to receive the award and to be president of VECCS. He was cited for his commitment, dedication, vision, and service to VECCS, AVECCT, and the technician profession in general. Harold served 16 years on the Board of Directors of VECCS, longer than any other member and has supported IVECCS as the Operations Director and AV Coordinator since 1990.

    In addition, Mr. Davis served on the Veterinary Technician Editorial Board from 2001 to 2011.
