COSTA MESA, California, April 4, 2012—For the fifth consecutive year, CareCredit is continuing its support of the American Animal Hospital Association’s (AAHA) Helping Pets Fund as Founding Benefactor with a donation of $45,000, presented this month during the AAHA Conference in Denver.
On January 1, 2012, the Fund suspended grants due to demand outpacing donation levels. As a result of CareCredit’s support, the Fund has immediately resumed grant funding, helping save pets and positively impacting their human family members.
Created in 2005, AAHA’s Helping Pets Fund has awarded nearly 4,000 grants, valued at more than $1 million, to help companion animals receive quality health care from AAHA-accredited veterinary practices. Many of the pets helped would not have received necessary care otherwise, including over 1,500 sick, lost or abandoned pets affected by hurricanes Katrina and Rita. To date, the Fund has been utilized by more than 800 AAHA-accredited practices in the U.S. and Canada.
