Compendium December 2011 (Vol 33, Issue 12)

Feline Focus: AAFP and ISFM Feline-Friendly Handling Guidelines

Earlier this year, the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) and the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM) issued guidelines designed to help decrease feline stress during veterinary visits, thereby enhancing patient care, staff safety, and cat owner compliance. As part of our partnership with AAFP, Compendium is pleased to be able to bring our readers the full guidelines, reprinted from the Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery. A client handout, "Getting Your Cat to the Veterinarian," is also available.
